Why we built BinMate
UK bin schedules are genuinely confusing. Food waste one week, recycling the next, garden on a different cycle entirely — and then a bank holiday quietly shifts everything by a day. Miss it, and you're living with an overflowing bin for another fortnight.
We wanted an app that simply tells you, at a glance, which bin to put out tonight — and reminds you, so you never have to think about it again. That's BinMate.
What makes it different
- Glanceable. A bold, colour-coded card you can read from across the kitchen, plus a home- and lock-screen widget showing your next bin.
- Bank holidays handled. BinMate applies the UK "+1 working day" rule automatically and tells you why a date moved — the exact thing other apps get wrong.
- Private by design. No account and no sign-up. Your postcode and bins live on your device, and the app works offline after the one-time setup.
- Fair pricing. Free for one home, forever. A one-time Lifetime unlock if you want to track several homes — no monthly subscription.

BinMate is built and run by Anas Hafidi, an independent developer. It supports England & Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland, with a warm British tone throughout — because it's a bin app, not a spreadsheet.
