Terms of use
The terms for using the BinMate website and collection service, including accuracy, reminders and your consumer rights.
Last updated: 5 September 2026
BinMate helps you keep track of collection days. Your council remains the source for official collection information and last-minute changes.
1. About BinMate and these terms
BinMate is operated by Anas Hafidi. These terms cover this website and the redesigned BinMate collection service. Contact contact@binmate.co.uk with questions. Please read these terms before using the service.
2. Using the app
The iPhone app’s software licence is governed by Apple’s Standard End User Licence Agreement unless a different licence is supplied with the app in the App Store. These service terms do not replace that licence or your mandatory consumer rights.
You may use BinMate for lawful personal and household purposes. Provide an address you are entitled to use. Do not attempt to disrupt the service, bypass access controls, introduce harmful code or access other people’s information without permission.
3. Collection information and coverage
BinMate is an independent app, not a council service and not endorsed by every council whose information it displays. Coverage depends on available address and council data. We cannot guarantee that a particular address or collection type is supported.
We take reasonable care with collection information, but source data may be delayed, incomplete or changed at short notice. Saved data can become out of date. Refresh your schedule regularly and check your council’s official notices for service disruption, bank-holiday changes or an important collection. General recycling guides are informational; local rules take precedence.
4. Reminders and widgets
Reminders require your permission and must be enabled in the app. Delivery can be affected by device settings, Focus modes, a stale schedule or operating-system limits. Widgets refresh on a schedule controlled partly by the operating system. Neither a reminder nor a widget is a guarantee that a collection will occur or that an alert will arrive at an exact time.
Pro subscriptions
Pro is optional. The app displays the current App Store price, billing period and any eligible introductory offer before purchase. Apple processes payment and confirms the terms in its purchase sheet. Annual subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled in App Store subscription settings. Cancel a free trial at least 24 hours before it ends to avoid a charge. Deleting BinMate does not cancel a subscription. Restore an eligible existing purchase from Settings; request App Store refunds through Apple. Your statutory consumer rights remain unchanged.
5. Availability and updates
We may update the app and service to improve them, fix issues or respond to changes in council systems. Internet access is needed for setup and refreshing collection dates. Features vary by platform and version; this website identifies previews of the next iPhone release. We will give reasonable notice of material service changes where practicable.
6. Intellectual property and links
BinMate’s branding, original content and design belong to us or our licensors. You may link to the site and use it for personal reference. Reproducing or distributing substantial content requires permission except where the law allows it. Third-party links are provided for convenience; their operators are responsible for their content and services.
7. Privacy
Our app privacy policy and website privacy policy explain how we use information and how to make a privacy request. They are privacy notices, not a blanket request for consent.
8. Responsibility and consumer rights
We are responsible for loss or damage that is a foreseeable result of our breach of these terms or failure to use reasonable care and skill, subject to applicable law. BinMate is provided for personal use, so we do not accept responsibility for business losses such as lost profit or business interruption.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. Nothing removes statutory rights you have as a consumer.
9. Ending use and resolving concerns
You can stop using the service at any time. See the privacy policy for how to remove device data and request deletion of server-side data. We may restrict access where reasonably necessary to address serious misuse or protect the service, consistently with your legal rights.
If something goes wrong, please contact us so we can try to resolve it. These service terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If you are a consumer elsewhere, you keep the mandatory protections and rights to use local courts that apply where you live. The app licence’s own governing provisions apply to that licence.
10. Changes to the terms
We may revise these terms. The date above identifies the current version. We will give notice of material changes where required by law; changes do not retrospectively remove accrued rights.
